From Toys in Love
One of the more techie toys we've ever reviewed landed on our doorstep the other day. -- Which of course brought forth the biggest smile possible on me, and quite the frown forth on my Other Half. She's sort'a the: as long as it works, I don't care HOW it works, -- kind'a gal. -- And I'm the geek who took apart my Mac Air the day after I got it, to see what was under the hood -- kind'a geek.
Anyway; the toy OhMiBod sent us, is of course the new wireless Mac-lovers wet dream: Freestyle :G... Can I just say we have 2 iMac, 1 Mac mini, 1 MacBook Air, 1 MacBook Pro, 1 iPad and 2 iPhones... Sending us something that'll make us come -- literally -- in bed, connected to a Mac product... -- Yep, I was smiling! *cough*.
Now; some companies just "get it", when it comes to the importance of packaging. -- And we can debate from now and till next Tuesday; whether or not it matters. -- "It's the toy", "only the toy matters". But holding this box the Freestyle :G comes in, just holding it, looking at it and slowly opening it... You just can't help but think: Damn, that's just class!
Having a look inside the sturdy box, and you do notice that they've skimped on some of their previous adapters and plugs from the original Freestyle box. -- But what you get is premium work: One plug-in adapter -- US-style (I would imagine you get the one matching your region if you buy the Freestyle :G locally), the wireless transmitter you connect to your iPhone/smart-phone or whatever, then the vibrator itself -- ours is awesome in purple, but you can get a pink one as well, and last but not least; the instruction manual. The whole thing is perfectly laid out in a bed of separated compartments -- made in some thermo-molded-plastic bed. It all looks pretty cool, and it would wow any recipient if given as a gift. Only thing I really missed, in this luxurious box, was some kind of little pouch thing. -- If I was going somewhere for the weekend and didn't want to pack the whole box... -- But what's there, is utter quality.
The little manual is easy to understand, and as soon as you get where the different jacks and connectors go, the rest is pretty intuitive. -- I was actually still flipping through the manual, when my Other Half had everything connected and was vibing away and testing the three modes the Freestyle :G comes with pre-installed. The first is a storage choice, second one is when you want to use it as a standard vibrator -- with four patterns, and third; the coup de grace, is of course the music mode. You scroll the modes by turning the end-cap of the vibrator, and you can scale the strength of the vibe via the plus and minus buttons.
But after the initial ohs and ahs and groping the thing like there was no tomorrow -- we sensibly put it to charge. -- And set about getting a good mix put together for the night's escapades. Because you can of course use you own mixes and music, which means the vibrator has endless patterns -- which is something rather unheard off in this business. -- If you have trouble finding something cool to drop in your phone or Mp3-player, there is a whole community via OhMiBod's website that'll take you to forums where people make and exchange playlists and vibes with each other.
The one I think is the most fun though, is the OhMiBod app. -- You can download it through AppStore in iTunes, and it's ridiculously addictive when you have a partner. -- The idea, basically, is that you glide and tap you finger different places on the screen, depending on the emotions you see in -- and on -- your partner. That way you control when -- and where she comes. I'm telling you; it's a great way to both feel 'connected' to each other and the play going on. And if you've done a set during your 'session' your partner really loved, you can store it for later use. -- E.g. when you are alone and without your partner, you just tap the saved 'tune' and you are right back in the moment.
But to get something saved, playtime was needed! And so we embarked on a marathon-testing of proportions you wouldn't believe. -- No I'm serious; we always end up with toys and what not everywhere. -- But in the end, we actually just used the Freestyle :G -- for hours! For one toy to captivate us for hours at a time is rather rare indeed. -- But the endless music options give this toy patterns en masse... -- It just doesn't feel like "just one toy"... And we didn't even use a bucket of lube! -- The toy doesn't really care which type of lube you use -- It's premium grade hypoallergenic non-toxic, non-porous ABS plastic with a PU coating *breathe*. -- And it's pretty slick and velvety -- it requires very little lube. We have a favorite water-based lube and it was perfect with just a little dollop.
Now; the toy itself is a little over 6 1/2 inches long, and it's slightly over 1 inch in diameter, so it's not the biggest of toys. -- And easily a brilliant toy for a beginner, and though my Other Half considers herself a bit of a size-queen, she's had plenty fun with the Freestyle :G by now. The curvature is just right to grace her G-spot, and since it's such a soft tapered curve, she feels as if she can just close her eyes, and float on music while her G-spot gets endless attention. She digs it for sure! Try as she might though, it's not a squirt toy, and it obviously won't give her that 'full' feeling she sometimes crave. -- So if that's the only way you can get off, the Freestyle :G might not be for you.
And yes, of course we've tried it anally! Condom on, and in it went. And no: we won't recommend it for anal use! -- It quite obviously has no base of any kind, and it's not the longest toy either. But being with a partner with a secure grip on the toy, it will quite easily reach your prostate, tingle you sideways and 'tune' your ass into the biggest music lover you'll ever find! -- I loved it instantly! The toy goes off -- vibes -- on strong sounds -- like bass, vocals and so on. -- And it's just an incredible feeling lying there while getting your prostate massaged to the music -- or -- tunes you hear. I seriously hate that OhMiBod haven't made a buttplug or prostate massager yet! -- It would rule!!
Other things that make this one helluva toy, is stuff like; it's splash-proof so; a little careful and you can use it in the shower. -- Just don't get water under the silicone-flap that covers the jack in the end. -- And the not recommend: tie it securely in a condom and use it in the tub -- but I would of course never write that. The range of the transmitter is 25 feet, so it really shouldn't matter where in the house you plug it in... There's a full year (1 year) warranty -- which is pretty cool. -- One thing I don't get though, why does the transmitter require two AAA batteries (included), when the toy recharges? -- Why not have the same recharger be able to recharge the transmitter as well? Small matter though, as I think most people have rechargeable AAA batteries in the house by now -- or they should -- green planet and all that... But two hours charge on the vibrator itself will give you about five hours of play.
Cleaning this toy is fairly simple. -- Just avoid getting water under the flap covering the jack in the end, and you're good. -- I'll recommend warm water and some anti-bacterial soap, finish off by wiping -- or patting -- the toy down with a good sex toy cleaner. -- It'll be good as new. All totaled: This toy just rocks -- literally! It's a great way to 'play' with your favorite music, and it's a great way to play with your partner as well. -- We've enjoyed the Freestyle :G immensely in the time we've had it, and I expect we'll have plenty more to come. So thanks OhMiBod; we certainly like this one! -- And now -- if you'll excuse me -- I have to go make a mix that really gets her fanny humming.
